Infertility
Symptoms and diagnosis of Infertility
The symptoms and signs of primary infertility and secondary infertility
are either the failure to conceive or, while not being defined as infertility,
the failure to carry a pregnancy through. In dealing with female infertility
it is vital to have a very clear history, particularly a history relating
to the menstrual cycle, previous pregnancies, terminations of pregnancy
and any history of pelvic infection or pelvic pain. Eating disorders,
such as anorexia and bulimia, may create hormonal imbalances and nutritional
deficiencies, which may also be associated with subsequent infertility.
An important aspect of conventional diagnosis is an evaluation of the
male sperm.
